Definition of exposition text

Writings that are classified as expository texts are sometimes also known as name argument texts, because this text will be dominated by the author's arguments and that is the characteristic that distinguishes this type of exposition text from other texts.

Analytical Exposition
Analytical exposition is a type of expository text that begins with a statement that shows the author's attitude, opinion, or position on the theme discussed then is supported by various arguments and ends with a statement or restatement stated at the beginning.
Hortatory Exhibition
Hortatory exposition is a type of exposition text that begins with a statement containing the issue or problem that is raised as the theme of the writing. Supported by various arguments and supporting evidence that can lead the reader to the author's point of view. The text will be closed with suggestions or recommendations from the author on what to do or happen related to the problem or issue that was presented at the beginning. Writing Structure in Exposition Text To write an expository text, there are three structures that must be studied and applied in your writing.

Thesis: This section will contain the issue or issue that will be raised, while in the analytic exposition, this section will contain the position, opinion or attitude of the author. Argumentation: The section that contains the opinion or argument presented by the author. Both the hortatory exposition and analytic exposition have the same explanation in this section.
Repetition: Repetition is the conclusion. The hortatory exposition will contain recommendations or suggestions from the author on the problem that is the theme of the writing. While in analytic exposition, this section will contain a re-statement from the author. Language Structure In addition to the structure of writing, there are linguistic elements that you need to pay attention to in writing expository texts. Among others are:
Using the simple present tense. Many use conjunctions (connective words) such as because, therefore, because, and so on. Contains arguments. Many use words that contain cause and effect (cause-effect). Using vocabulary that is able to arouse the reader's emotions, such as: Amused, concerned, innocent, unreasonable, etc.
